Molten Extreme
Heavy Foundry Coat
3-Layer Thermal Armor (~615 g/m²).
Engineered against intense infrared radiant heat waves at furnace fronts, melting bays, slag skimming stations, and ladle pouring lines. Integrating a 350 g/m² non-stick outer shell with a ~150 g/m² 100% meta-aramid felt thermal barrier and ~115 g/m² woven inner lining, the breathable non-aluminized Molten Extreme Coat elevates radiant heat protection to Class C2 (RHTI24 = 37.4 s).
Quick-Release Emergency Engineering: Equipped with an instant quick-release front storm placket so an operator can shed the coat in a single motion during a severe splash emergency. The collar opening and seams follow downward trap-free geometry under EN ISO 11612 Clause 4.2.
3-Stage Shield Against Radiant Heat and Molten Splash
Each layer of the breathable non-aluminized composite neutralizes a distinct thermal threat, assembled without lamination to preserve insulating micro-air gaps and vapor permeability.
Liquid Aluminum vs. Liquid Iron: Specific Heat (cp) & Latent Heat of Fusion (ΔHf)
In ladle pouring and slag skimming, molten aluminum (~750°C) carries substantially higher thermal energy per unit mass than molten iron (~1400°C):
- 🔥 Specific Heat Capacity (cp): Molten Aluminum 1.08 J/g·K vs. Molten Iron 0.82 J/g·K (+32% higher thermal storage capacity).
- ⚡ Latent Heat of Fusion (ΔHf): Molten Aluminum 397 J/g vs. Molten Iron 247 J/g (+61% higher solidification heat release plus ~94 W/m·K thermal conductivity).
- 🛡️ 3-Layer (~615 g/m²) Solution: The Leidenfrost micro-vapor cushion sheds 357–360 g aluminum (D3) and 208–212 g iron (E3) without sticking, while the ~150 g/m² Meta-Aramid felt core raises ISO 6942 radiant resistance to Class C2 (RHTI24 = 37.4 s).
Furnace-Front Steam Scald Burn Prevention Mechanism
Under intense infrared radiation when furnace doors open, liquid sweat trapped inside impermeable synthetic coats flashes to 100°C (expanding 1,600× in volume), causing severe Steam Scald Burns even without garment ignition.
- 💧 3-Layer Hygroscopic Vapor Diffusion: The inner lining (45% FR Viscose) and MARLAN PLUS outer shell absorb moisture in the vapor phase before liquid sweat films form behind the felt barrier.
- 🌬️ Scald Burn Protection: Eliminates internal steam scald hazards across extended furnace-front and ladle shifts.
RHTI24 = 37.4 Seconds — 2.5× Single-Layer & 5.3× Above C1 Minimum
Engineering Note: Molten Extreme is a breathable textile composite; it is not aluminized, not C3 and not C4. At -32% lighter weight than impermeable ~900 g/m² approaches, it reduces metabolic heat stress while delivering continuous shift-long Class C2 radiant heat and D3/E3 splash safety.
Emergency Quick-Release & Trap-Free Cut
During heavy pouring and pyro-processing operations, rapid garment egress in a splash or blowback event is vital. Molten Extreme is engineered strictly under EN ISO 11612 Clause 4.2 design rules:
- ⚡ Quick-Release System: Front closure opens in a single pull during emergencies so the coat drops free in seconds.
- 🛡️ Full Double-Layer Storm Placket & Trap-Free Front: Fasteners are completely shielded by an external double FR storm flap with zero external patch pockets or upward folds where slag could lodge.
- 📐 Downward Waterfall Seams: All exterior seams overlap downward to accelerate molten runoff; strictly no pleats or cuffed/folded hems.
- 🚨 2.5 cm Sewn FR Tape (EN ISO 20471 / EN 17353:2020 Type B2): Certified 2.5 cm sewn flame-retardant retroreflective strips provide 360° visibility to overhead crane and forklift operators.
- 🔒 EN 1149-2 Induction Insulation & Isolated Hardware: Outer fabric provides EN 1149-2:1997 (1.78 × 10⁸ Ω vertical resistance) and EN 1149-5 antistatic protection with zero internal thermal bridges.
For full-body integrity at ladle pouring bays, furnace charging/slag skimming, and rotary kiln (~1450°C sintering / burner pipe inspection) stations, pair Molten Extreme Coat (~615 g/m², C2 = 37.4 s) with the collar-interlocking Korgan Detachable FR Hood + Korgan Trousers (350 g/m², D3/E3) and a 95% IR-reflective gold-coated visor.
Molten Extreme Coat: throat-shielding stand collar, 2.5 cm sewn FR reflective strips, and quick-release storm placket.
